David Michael Martin, 40, of Hewitt, was arrested Wednesday for intoxication manslaughter after a car crash that killed toddler Ivyana Sheppard, 2, of Bellmead.
Authorities reported that Martin was speeding at the time of the incident and his blood alcohol level was three times the legal limit. Martin’s Ford pickup truck crashed into the 1985 Chevrolet Caprice driven by David Sheppard, 24, of Beverly Hills at the intersection of Bagby Avenue and Corporation Parkway in Waco.
The child and Sheppard were taken to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center where Ivyana died.

U.S. Marine Corps recruiter, Timothy Lamont Craig, 26, is charged with sexual assault of a child for an alleged relationship with a 16 year old girl.
The teen’s foster mother tipped off police after finding out from the girl that she and Craig had sex in the backseat of a car during a football game. The two met at a recruiting booth at McCallum High School, and Craig gave her his government-issued cell phone number.
400 text messages were exchanged between them from July 1 to October 11, according to Naval Criminal Investigative Service officials. NCIS reported that Craig charged a $49.99 “Red Carpet Special” car wash on his government-issued credit card after he and the teen had sex in his government-issued car.

Damon Bruce Beshears, 38, of Austin, was sentenced to five years in prison for drug and gun charges.
Beshears admitted that he had a plan to kill police officers, and pleaded guilty to possession with the intent to distribute steroids, possession of a firearm during a drug trafficking crime, and manufacturing anabolic steroids. Authorities took the weapons Beshears admitted he would use if his home were raided.
The deal was reached with prosecutors in August because Beshears has a history of mental illness, according to Assistant U.S. Attorney Mark Marshall.

Texas resident, Shayne A. Breaux, 38, was sentenced to 3.5 to 7 years in prison for homicide by vehicle and driving under the influence from a 2009 crash that killed the passenger in his car.
The crash occurred on an entrance ramp to Innovation Park on Interstate 99. Breaux was driving a Ford Explorer and his blood-alcohol level was 0.242 percent.
According to police, the passengers in Breaux’s car accused him of intentionally swerving the vehicle although Breaux himself initially denied all accusations that he was driving.
Brock Choate, 24, was the victim who was thrown from the vehicle and killed by a trailer tractor.
