In 2010, the 28-year-old running back was arrested when he punched an employee who was working at an Austin bar. Last month, he was again arrested in downtown Austin for punching his former roommate. Benson pleaded no contest to a charge of assault in both instances.
Benson can have his most recent assault charge dismissed if he pays restitution to the victim and performs 30 hours of community service. Although he had planned to surrender during the Cincinnati Bengal’s bye week on October 17th, he was booked on Tuesday in a Travis County Jail.
