The Attorney General announced that the 2,000th arrest has been made by the Cyber Crimes and Fugitive units that Abbott made in 2003.
According to the Austin American-Statesman, Kirk Brandon Muller was the 2,000th man arrested. The Statesman reports that Muller, who was “convicted in 1993 for indecency with four children, was arrested for being in contact with a young girl, a violation of his parole, Abbott said.”
These divisions are part of Abbott’s plan for hyper-vigilance of sex offenders. He says this population is the most likely to repeat their crime, so he wants to stay on top of them.
Being accused of a crime is a serious allegation and can label you a criminal for the rest of your life. If you or someone you know has been accused of a crime, contact Ian Inglis, Austin Criminal Defense Attorney, by dialing 1-800-589-1808.
