April 9th, 2010 · No Comments

A man convicted of felony drug charges, wanted for violating his supervised release from prison, was arrested Wednesday night after a high-speed chase in Austin.

According to officials with the Freeborn County sheriff’s Department, officers placed stop sticks in the roadway at 870th Avenue and Freeborn County Road 1, which deflated all four tires on the man’s vehicle. Detective Brian Krueger with the Austin Police Department, said the man’s vehicle came to a stop a short distance later on 873rd Avenue, where he was arrested without incident.

The 38 year-old man has a felony conviction for second-degree drug crime from 2006. Records show he was sentenced in Mower District Court and served several years in prison for the crime. He was placed on supervised release from prison in October 2009.

Authorities discovered a syringe and glass pipe in the man’s car, which tested positive for meth.
