Wanted Man Arrested in Texas Almost 4 Years After Crime

Police have captured a man wanted for armed robbery that has been on the run for 3 1/2 years.

According to Sgt. Jason Keckler of the Frederick Police Department, 37 year-old Juan Antonio Canales was arrested shortly before 5:00 a.m. Friday. Police officers in Houston arrested the man on a charge of public intoxication. A name check revealed that Canales was wanted for charges filed in Frederick, Texas.

Canales was charged with armed robbery, robbery, theft, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, and use of a handgun during the commission of a crime. He was arrested in connection with a 7-Eleven convenience store that was burglarized.

Keckler said the department is proud of the arrest, explaining that officers “were excited to hear we were able to make the capture and close the case…”
