Texas Teen Gets 40-year Sentence For Crime Spree

January 20th, 2010 · No Comments

A Texas teen who was accused of participating in a November crime spree was sentenced on Wednesday to 40 years in prison for his crimes. Sources say the crime spree included home invasion robberies of elderly people as well as the robbery of several convenience stores. During one home invasion,  authorities claim an 84-year old man was severely beaten.

The teen was tried in juvenile court, in which he admitted to the use of a deadly weapon while committing the crimes. He will be required to serve his sentence at the Texas Youth Commission until he reaches the age of 19, when he will have a hearing to determine whether he will serve the rest of his sentence in an adult prison, or if he will be paroled.
