The Austin Police Department made 24 driving-while-intoxicated arrests on New Year’s Eve.

The “no refusal” initiative to force people who are suspected of drunk driving to give blood if they refuse a Breathalyzer test. 18 of the people consented to Breathalyzer tests and one took the blood test. The arrests happened between Thursday at 9 p.m. and Friday at 5 a.m.
