A clerk at the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office was arrested on Friday night on charges of soliciting prostitution.

According to a police spokesman, 25 year-old David Herrera offered an undercover officer oral sex for money shortly before 8 p.m. on Friday. The incident occurred in Dowtown El Paso in the 1900 block of Texas Avenue. Police officials said that after Herrera was arrested it was discovered that he had marijuana in his possession.

Authorities booked Herrrera into the El Paso County Jail on charges of prostitution, possession of marijuana under two ounces, and three other outstanding municipal court warrants.

He is currently on paid administrative leave while authorities investigate the charges.
