A woman who worked for Y&M Property Investment is accused of stealing more than $23,000 from 15 residents between June 2008 and April 2009. Her boss began noticing inconsistencies and found out that a large sum of money was missing.
The woman allegedly took cash from tenants and gave them receipts for payments, but did not deposit the money. When her boss noticed the inconsistencies, he sent letters to the tenants with their supposed payment histories. 15 of them said there was a mistake.
The woman is charged with felony theft and faces up to 2 years in jail. Her bail is set at $20,000.
