Prescott police arrested a Texas truck driver on Monday on charges of extreme DUI. The man backed his semi truck and trailer into the Lowe’s building on Highway 69, damaging the building and his tractor-trailer, police said in a press release.
Forty-four-year-old Manuel Paz-Pocasangre, who is a supplier for Lowe’s, was attempting to back into a loading bay at the store. According to police Paz-Pocasangre tried half-a-dozen times, the truck collided with the building.
Police reviewed footage from the store’s security camera which captured the whole incident.
Lowe’s employees found Paz-Pocasangre in the driver’s seat of the truck with the engine still running. Employees called the police because they suspected him of being drunk. Preliminary investigation indicated he had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.249 percent. Arizona’s legal limit is 0.08 percent. Paz-Pocasangre was booked into the Yavapai County jail in Camp Verde where authorities are holding him on $4,000 bond pending a May 12 court hearing.
