A Porter man was indicted on six counts relating to a 2007 DWI crash that left one dead. Robert Joseph Lewis, 25, was indicted on two counts of aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury, one count of manslaughter, one count of intoxication manslaughter, and two counts of intoxication assault.
The crash took place near FM 1314 near SH 242. Lewis was driving his Chevrolet pickup truck eastbound when he crossed the center line and hit an eastbound Mazda Miata. 21-year-old Blake Ryan Page, a passenger in the Miata, was pronounced dead at the scene. The 19-year-old female driver and a 14-year-old female passenger in Lewis’ pickup were seriously injured and flown to Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical Center at Houston.
Lewis sustained only minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital. Lewis was arrested in July 2008 and has remained in jail on a total of $100,000 bond since that time.
