True Criminal Apologizes for Other Man Taking the Fall

April 17th, 2009 · No Comments

The perpetrator of a robbery of a couple, and the sexual assault of the woman that occurred in Dallas in 1992.  The man was recently arrested for an unrelated charge, and told authorities about his crime.

The man says that one of his main regrets is that another individual was in prison for 15 years for this crime. Another man was convicted of this crime, and was even picked in a line-up by the victims.  Only after serving time in prison for 15 years,  did DNA evidence exonerate the individual.

The statute of limitations for this crime has expired, so it is unlikely that the man will be charged.  This case highlights the importance of having a good criminal defense lawyer.
