A New York judge has recently overturned the rape and murder convictions of a man who was sentenced to spend 25 years to life in prison.  The man whose sentences were overturned has spent the last 20 years in prison.  He was convicted of raping and murdering a teenage classmate in 1985.  He was convicted in 1989.

Twelve years ago, The Innocence Project began to fight for the man.  Working with the district attorney of Oneida County, The Innocence Project used DNA evidence that was not available 20 years ago.
