I am proud of my strong record in criminal defense law, which I have been practicing since I graduated with honors from the University of Texas Law School in 1978. From there, I went on to work as a research and briefing attorney at the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals, the highest appellate court in the state. I began my own law practice in 1981, and earned my certification in criminal law from the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in 1987.
